1. In terms of essential amino acid content, buckwheat protein is similar to animal products and is therefore considered an equivalent substitute for meat. At the same time, buckwheat is much easier to digest.
2. Buckwheat stabilises blood sugar levels. After eating buckwheat porridge, blood sugar levels rise slowly, rather than sharply, as is the case with other carbohydrate foods.
3. Buckwheat groats are rich in folic acid, which helps to increase the body’s overall resistance to adverse environmental factors.
4. Buckwheat is an environmentally friendly product. It is perhaps the only plant that has not been genetically modified. Buckwheat does not contain any nitrates, pesticides or herbicides. This plant simply does not need chemicals. It grows well without fertilisers and copes with weeds and pests without outside help.
5. One of the most important properties of buckwheat is its ability to protect against cancer. Thanks to its flavonoid content, buckwheat prevents the growth of tumours. This is especially important in today’s environmental situation.
In addition to its anti-cancer properties, eating buckwheat reduces the risk of thrombosis, helps cleanse blood vessels of ‘bad’ cholesterol and prevents the development of cardiovascular diseases.
